Tade Styka (1889 – 1954/ Polish
Tadeusz Styka – Polish painter. First teacher, his father, Jan Styka, proud of son’s talent, was dispatching his pictures for exhibitions since 1900. Tadeusz studied in Paris. He realized sketches for „Battle of Grunwald” panorama (not executed) together with his father. Since 1929 he lived in USA. He painted genre scenes, animals, nudes, but first of all he was an author of brilliant portraits of famous people („Portrait of Pola Negri”, Portrait of I.J.Paderewski” – both in National Museum in Warsaw). He also painted symbolic and religious scenes, frequently together with his younger brother Adam.
