Born in Naples in 1953, Gianni Strino was fortunately raised in a time when art was not only respected and encouraged on a national level, but also a thriving profession. Once he completed his studies at the Neapolitan Artistic Lyceum, he enrolled at the Faculty of Architecture, but attracted by the fascination of the pictorial arts, he gave up studying and dedicated himself, full-time, to painting. The artist is considered to be a major representative of the modern Neapolitan aesthetic movement. His most notable qualities as a figure painter lie in his ability to penetrate beyond surfaces, and paint in depths.
